The purpose of public employment services is to :
- Make information on the labour market accessible and to help people looking for a job (universal services);
- Support people who are able to undertake a process that will help them enter the labour market or maintain employment (specialized services);
- Help businesses that wish to improve their productivity, by focusing on training and skills development, as well as on improving human resources management practices.
Universal services offered to the entire population :
- Labour market information;
- Online job offer site;
- Multiservice room: support and accompaniment for the use of job search tools (computer, fax, photocopier, documentation, etc.).
Specialized services offered to job seekers at risk of long-term unemployment
- Employability assessment;
- Establishment of an individualized pathway to employment (training, job search, etc.);
- Referral to active employment programs and measures adapted to needs;
- Financial assistance granted according to activities and status.
Business services
- Portrait of human resources management practices;
- Recruitment assistance (e.g., salary subsidy);
- Accompaniment by a human resources management specialist:
- In-company training ;
- Management of a diversified workforce.
Social solidarity services
- Provide financial support to individuals and families in need;
- Promote economic and social autonomy
Government services
- Information on government programs and services;
- Assistance with administrative procedures, particularly in the use of online services;
- Swearing in: for example, to make an affidavit or to have a certified copy of a document;
- Access to computers, printers and other equipment, particularly for online services (multi-service room).
